In this study, a unit of "How to make a good use of electricity" for 6th grade science lessons was developed through the incorporation of programming education. Two approaches were taken to see how the idea of "Making Things" is effective in order to raise students' motivation in science learning. The results from survey and written artifacts indicated that the use of a programming tool called MESH was effective in raising student creative thinking and self-efficacy. However, many students expressed difficulties in understanding controlling mechanisms involved in programming. |
