Comparison of the nucleotide sequences of the D^p and D^d gene fragment reveals a high degree of homology (92%). Further comparisons of the D^p and D^d sequences with other previously published classI gene sequences reveals that the homology between D^p and D^d is higher than the homology of either of these genes to D^b, L^d, K^b or K^d. The small differences in the 5\u0027-portion of D^p and D^d gene are up to three nucleotides.
