内容記述 | This essay analyzes the scenario of America's new security strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. The core of the new strategy is shifting strategy focus to the Southwest Pacific and Indian Ocean and realigning them to a combined new theater. The biggest problem is whether the new strategy would lead to U.S.-China conflict or a more peaceful region. The author argues that the future of security in the Asia-Pacific region will be more dependent on intellectual competition than a raw military power rivalry. Overestimation of the threat, miscalculation, and misjudgment are likely to be the most dangerous challenges. Continuous self-reassurance and mutual reassurance among all the stakeholders in the region are vital to guaranteeing the peace. | |||||
