This study demonstrated that in acute intrahepatic cholestasis in men the shapes of pericanalicular microfilaments became shortened or granular at an early stage, and at the later stage they took the shapes of filamentous meshwork. The study also showed that in experimental cholestasis two types of bile canaliculi-one with shortened or granular pericanalicular microfilaments and the other with increased filamentous ones-were observed and RRSC and Mg^\u003c++\u003e-ATPase activity on both of them decreased.
