| 内容記述 | This paper utilizes two types of surveys (A and B) conducted by Ichikawa(1978) to assess ellipsis of the conjunctive expressions of Chinese learners of the Japanese language. The results of the Ichikawa surveys are compared to the results of a survey of ellipsis in the conjunctive expressions of Japanese native speakers conducted by Sakuma(1992), and the results of both are juxtaposed First, no salient difference between Japanese native speakers and Chinese learners of the Japanese language was discovered regarding ellipsis in contexts composed of just two sentences. However, in the contexts composed of multiple sentences found in survey B, there was a conspicuous asymmetry between both groups. Although the frequency of ellipsis in the writing of Japanese native speakers was low only in adversative relationships, the frequency of ellipsis in the writing of Chinese learners of the Japanese language was low in not only inverse relationships, but also copulative relationships, and conversion relationships. One of the charaeteristics of texts conjoined by many sentences is contextual complexity, but because Japanese native speakers inhcrently understand the contextual flow of natural Japanese, they are able to freely elide and supplement conjunctive expressions while maintaining the clarity of a composition. Conversely, because Chinese learners of the Japanese language do not have the sufficient grasp of the contextual nuance possessed by native Japanese writers, they place special emphasis on the logic of the composition and place many conjunctive expressions in their writing. There is heterogeneity between both groups in this regard. | |||||
