内容記述 | There are many research materials focusing on the relationship between sex role attitudes and ideal life course. If the Japanese female's sex role attitude has an egalitarian direction, then Japanese females show a marked tendency toward working even after marriage or giving birth. In case of when the Japanese male's sex role attitude has an egalitarian direction, then the Japanese male is also willing to allow their wife to continue to work even after marriage or giving birth. Based on previous research, we can presume that sex role attitudes and work values have a great effect on the choice of a female’s ideal life course. This study is trying to explore this kind of effect on the direction of a female's ideal life course. Data were collected from 176 male university students and 295 female university students. They answered a questionnaire which included their ideal life course (housewives' life course, re -employmemt life course, remaining in work course), the Scale of Egalitarian Sex Role Attitudes (SESRA-S), work values (comfortable work environment, career aspirations, intellectual stimulation, social contribution, and family) and social considerations. Multiple logistic regression analyses demonstrated that sex role attitudes and social considerations had an influence on Japanese female ideal life courses. A Two-way Factorial ANOVA demonstrated that the respondents who chose to remain in work as a life course had the strongest egalitarian inclination. | |||||
