内容記述 | In this paper we discuss, from the following two aspects, the 19th century as viewed by education and the media. The first aspect concerns the 19th century as a preparation for the century of the image. The aim of education is to learn concepts and ways of thinking and in order to appeal to children's instincts, it is necessary to encourage to and from between linguistic symbols and actual experiences. This type of demand existed from the time of J.A. Commenius in the 17th century. The 19th century was an age when J.A. Pestalozzi. J.H. Herbart and J. Dewey built the theoretical foundations of education designed to fulfil this demand, and technology to record and transmit images was developed. The second aspect of the 19th century concerns the spread of literacy education. During the 19th century the school system spread and there was an increase in the number of temple elementary schools. As a result, more people than ever before were brought up to be able to read and write. However, reading and writing did not remain simply the technique of transposing the spoken voice into letters. There is much which is not understood about literacy, such as how people's thoughts change when they learn to read and write and to express their thoughts in writing. What was literacy in the 19th century is the question asked by this paper. This is a question which must also be discussed in future. | |||||
