内容記述 By taking advantage of the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, we propose a direct sequence (DS)-UWB system with an optional chirp signaling (CS)-UWB as a physical layer (PHY) solution for low-rate wireless personal area networks (WPAN). Structure and characteristics of the proposed system are illustrated in detail. It can be seen that the proposed system provides a general PHY structure which can be customized for various applications. Examples of link budgets as well as system performance are given. The proposed system meets all the technical requirements of IEEE 802.15.4a task group, in which the standardization effort to provide an alternative PHY for low-rate WPAN is in process.
