In the Higashimushigame landslide, we observed such items to research the characteristics of groundwater during the snow-melting season. Groundwater head fluctuated in colluvial deposits upon the slip surface and in fissured mud- stone under the slip surface independently. Groundwater head under the slip surface exceeded the level of the one in the deposit during the snow-melting season, especially at the end of the snow-melting season. The chemical compositions of groundwater upon the slip surface differed from those under the slip surface.
