| 内容記述 | This contrastive study of predicative possession in Japanese and Chinese describes the difference between Japanese aru/iru possessive and Chinese you possessive. The Japanese aru/iru possessive can express possession at that very moment and may imply a specialty of the possessee when it is not modified at all. Contrarily, Chinese you possessive denotes the mere possessional relation and cannot have a special connotation. While it is possible for the Chinese you possessive to describe characteristics such as height, width, and weight, Japanese cannot exploit the aru/iru possessive in this case and instead uses a copula sentence. | |||||||||
