| 内容記述 | Soluble thrombomodulin (TM) in plasma is thought to reflect endothelial damage. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between plasma levels of soluble TM and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis defined with coronary angiography. Levels of plasma soluble TM were examined in 105 patients who underwent coronary angiography. Blood samples were obtained from peripheral vein, aortic root and coronary sinus. The levels of TM were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The change of TM level in coronary circulation was calculated as coronary sinoarterial difference. Patients were classified into 3 groups according to the number of diseased vessels (no diseased-vessel group, single-vessel group and multi-vessels group), and the severity of coronary atherosclerosis was evaluated with Gensini score defined with coronary angiographic findings. Plasma levels of TM in peripheral vein, aortic root and coronary sinus were higher in multi-vessels group than in no diseased-vessel group or single-vessel group (p<0.05). The change of TM level in coronary circulation was significantly higher in multi－vessels group than in other 2 groups (p< 0.05). Moreover, the coronary sino-arterial difference of TM level showed positive correlation with Gensini score (r＝0.300, p＝0.0019). The increased level of plasma TM across the coronary circulation was associated with the severity of coronary atherosclerosis. Plasma soluble TM may be a clinically useful marker for endothelial damage. | |||||
