健常者の尿中に排泄されるタンパク質の由来, 特に腎臓のネフロン部位などを明らかにし, それらの中から, 比較的に部位特異性を示すタンパク質を選定し, 腎蔵病などの障害部位とその程度を示す尿バイオマーカー候補リストを作製することである. そのために, 健常者の尿, 腎臓組織, 血漿の各タンパク質を網羅的(プロテオーム)に質量分析計で解析, 比較した. 尿プロテオームから検出された882種類のタンパク質のうち, 429種類は血漿プロテオームに存在するタンパク質であった. 尿と腎臓のプロテオームに共通して検出されたタンパク質は132種類, 尿に検出されたが, 腎臓や血漿プロテオームに検出されなかったタンパク質が321種類あった. これら血漿プロテオームに含まれない尿タンパク質について, ヒトタンパク質の組織, 細胞分布などを免疫組織化学法で検索し, データベース化しているHuman Protein Atlasの腎臓および膀胱の免疫組織化学画像でその局在を調べた結果, 尿と腎臓に共通して検出されたタンパク質の中に糸球体, 近位尿細管, 遠位尿細管, 集合管, 膀胱に特異的に顕著に強く発現しているタンパク質がそれぞれ, 7種類, 29種類, 6種類. 1種類, 23種類見つかった. これらの腎臓部位特異的強発現タンパク質は腎臓病の腎障害部位や膀胱障害などを示すバイオマーカー候補と考えられ, 今後,
