What are the differences between senior high school students from different areas who are advancing to higher education? What are the problems in the university entrance examination? What do other issues exist concerning the state of consciousness of high school students advancing to higher education? We examined these questions based on data collected from a questionnaire survey. The sample size was 743 with a response rate of 92.9% Empirical findings from the analysis can be summarized as follows. The rural students are more disadvantaged than the students from urban areas in aspects of family status, personal situations, and study situations. Only 0.4% of the students want to enter private universities. The reasons why they do not want to go to private universities and colleges can be concluded that private universities are not considered in the same way as national and public universities and colleges. Consequently, we can conclude that private universities and colleges will have more opportunities to develop, if policies are carried out thoroughly. Government orbits private universities and colleges into a marketing system and give them the ability to compete with national and public universities and colleges, in order to contribute to the expansion and equality of enrolment in higher education.}, pages = {55--72}, title = {中国における高校生の進学意識の実態と民営大学の果たす役割 : 河北省と北京市の事例を中心に}, volume = {39}, year = {2007} }
