 note = {Japan's public pension system has been designed for the single income household. In this system, a office worker husband and a full-time homemaker wife is the standard model. But, in recent years, working women have been rapidly increasing. The family structure and the forms of employment are also becoming more diversified. Especially lifestyle of women is extremely diverse. However, the current public pension system may not respond to those rapid changes in society. Nowadays, the problems of the pension system have been looked at more closely and have become a serious social issue. Because of this, it is necessary to restructure the pension system to respond flexibly to changes in society. To structure the pension system that respond flexibly to changes in society, it is important to examine the problems caused by diverse litlestyles of women. This paper will consider issues arising various lifestyles of women, focusing on single mothers particularly.},
