Over these years, active research has been developed both in Japan and China. Regret for the Past which was written in the year 1925, is the only love story by Lu Xun. Until it was included in his second novel collection Wandering, it had been an unpublished work. This love story was written on the 21th of Oct. in 1925, just four days after the completion of Lonely Person. That year and previous year were the most creative and fruitful time for Lu Xun, most of the writing of Wild Grass and Wandering was done. Of these works, especially Regret for the Past continues to be special to readers. It has been attempted to plumb the works for autobiographical details about the author himself. At the same time, it has been discussed for many of its peculiarities and symbolism in the work. In regards to the work of Lu Xun, there are a number of literary studies about his prose and syntax.
