From the beginning of 1945, Inoue published the poem “Shikoson”, and had produced a variety of excellent “Western Regions Stories”. The background of the creation of Inoue in literary works, In addition to affecting the development of Dunhuang Studies, some of his own experiences also promoted the production of his “Western Regions Stories”. In this paper, the focus is on the first “Western Regions Stories”, through a survey of information to analyze the relationship between facts and fiction works. Moreover, by comparison with other periods’ novels,analysis of “Shikoson” ’s position in his literature is conducted, so that we can see that “Shikoson” is the starting point for his “Western Regions Stories”.
