 note = {The color reaction which is safe and of highly reproductive nature was lntroduced to help detect soil which it is difficult to visualise as one of the means whereby to raise effectiveness of instruction of homeeconomics materials. The following results were obtained. 1) The color reaction employed to detect Physical soil was sensitive enough to enable accurate visual judgement even in its thin solution. 2) The experiment was simple: color reaction took place in a short time and the reproductivity was also high. 3) Although this was a qualitative experiment, the difference in the degree of color reaction was descernible in response to the difference of soiledness due to the length of wearing and certain parts of the clothing. 4) The pupils expressed gunuine surprise and enjoyment in the experiment. which can be said to have led to active participation and self－motivated study in the next class on the part of the pupils.},
