Fine mineral grains and solid particles in the acid rains which were collected at the Niigata district have been examined from the standpoint of mineralogy using TEM-AEM method. Large amounts of fine grained minerals or materials in acid rains were found and identified. They were classified as artificial and natural types , and into soluble and insoluble types in water. Examples of the most characteristic type are mullite and A1 Si spherules. Mullite and "sulphate" may suggest their pollution origin.
