 note = {A Middle Permian brachiopod fauna consisting of seven species in six genera is described from the lower part of the Nabeyama Formation (Parafusulina yabei Zone, Murgabian or Wordian) of Yamasuge in the Kuzu area, Ashio Mountains, central Japan. New species described are Tropidelasma yamasugensis and Cleiothyridina hayasakai. The Yamasuge fauna is a correlative of the Nabeyama fauna from the Middle Permian of Nabeyama in the Kuzu area. There is a strong affinity between the Yamasuge fauna and the Middle Permian North American (West Texas) fauna.},
