Based on this epidemiological finding, we tested the hypothesis of whether or not the use of agricultural chemicals are related to the occurrence of cancers. An ecological correlation analysis between the use of agricultural chemicals (1962-1975) and the SMRs (1985) was made among 46 prefectures.
