 note = {As is widely accepted, most of glomerulonephritic renal diseases arise from abnormal immunologic processes. Current problems and understanding of the mechanisms underlying the glomerular injury are the focus of this review. Data gathered in the last few years have changed the old view of the kidney as an "innocent bystander". The kidney is a more active contributor to glomerular immune reactions than previously realized. This line of research conducted at our institute is introduced and open to the discussion.},
