The results showed a marked increase of chemiluminescence which paralleled the increase of albuminuria. A superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimic, which enters easily into the cells was administred and a significant decrease of proteinuria was noted. Addition of SOD in vitro inhibited the enhanced chemiluminescence in rats administered with ADR. A slight glomerular cell increase, but no recruitment of leucocytes and/or monocytes/marcrophages, was observed.
