However, the LFA-1^\u003c+++\u003e CD3^+ cells were almost all CD8^+, in contrast to those of mice. Double negative (DN) CD^\u003c4-\u003eCD^\u003c8-\u003eT cells comprised less than 1% of the T-cell population in rats. NK3.2.3^\u003c++\u003e T cells also increased in the liver, but not in the peripheral blood of older rats; conversely, NK cells decreased in older rats. CD5^+ B cells increased in the liver but not in the spleen and peripheral blood of older rats. Furthermore, class II positive T cells and interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R) positive T cells increased in the liver of older rats.
