In the present model, particle attrition was taken into consideration. Effect attrition mode, i.e. continuous attrition or intermittent attrition, on overall reaction rate, overall reaction order with respect to SO_2 concentration, and maximum utilization of solid were evaluated. Attrition mode had a great influence on sulfur capture behavior even if the average attrition rate was the same.
