Rice endosperm protein (REP) intake during adulthood has been reported to improve lipid metabolism and suppress the progression of diabetic kidney disease in animal models. However, the effects of REP intake during childhood on adulthood health are unclear. Therefore, we used a mouse model to experimentally investigate the preconditioning effects of REP intake during childhood on the development of obesity and related disorders in adulthood. Male C57BL/6J mice were pair-fed a normal-fat diet containing casein or REP during the juvenile period and then a high-fat diet (HFD) containing casein or REP during adulthood. Mice fed REP during the juvenile period showed better body weight, blood pressure, serum lipid profiles, lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-binding protein levels, and glucose tolerance in adulthood than those fed casein during the juvenile period. HFD-induced renal tubulo-glomerular alterations and hepatic microvesicular steatosis were less evident in REP-fed mice than in casein-fed ones. REP intake during the juvenile period improved HFD-induced dysbiosis (i.e., Escherichia genus proliferation and reduced gut microbiota diversity), thereby suppressing endotoxin-related chronic inflammation. Indeed, REP-derived peptides showed antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, a major producer of LPS. In conclusion, REP supplementation during the juvenile period may regulate the gut microbiota and thus suppress the development of obesity and related disorders in adulthood in mice.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_6_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Nutrients. 2019, 11(12), 2919.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_description_53":{"attribute_name":"学位記番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"新大院博(医)甲第962号","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_dissertation_number_52":{"attribute_name":"学位授与番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_dissertationnumber":"13101甲第4792号"}]},"item_6_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"178213","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"樋口, 裕樹"}]}]},"item_6_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"info:doi/10.3390/nu11122919","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_6_select_19":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_select_item":"ETD"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Higuchi, Yuki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"178212","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-11-12"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r2nmk962.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"4.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"本文","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/34155/files/r2nmk962.pdf"},"version_id":"4f03cb3e-2a5c-4cef-9d96-dbada4164f7d"},{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-11-12"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r2nmk962_a.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"456.2 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"要旨","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/34155/files/r2nmk962_a.pdf"},"version_id":"e0f937e5-e3f0-48db-9664-6877a5ac9cb8"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"childhood nutrition","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"gut microbiota","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"kidney disease","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"metabolic syndrome","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"obesity","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"rice protein","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"thesis","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_46ec"}]},"item_title":"Rice Endosperm Protein Administration to Juvenile Mice Regulates Gut Microbiota and Suppresses the Development of High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity and Related Disorders in Adulthood","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Rice Endosperm Protein Administration to Juvenile Mice Regulates Gut Microbiota and Suppresses the Development of High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity and Related Disorders in Adulthood"}]},"item_type_id":"6","owner":"1","path":["455","562"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2020-11-12"},"publish_date":"2020-11-12","publish_status":"0","recid":"34155","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Rice Endosperm Protein Administration to Juvenile Mice Regulates Gut Microbiota and Suppresses the Development of High-Fat Diet-Induced Obesity and Related Disorders in Adulthood"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":null},"updated":"2022-12-15T04:04:28.549075+00:00"}
