Methods Twenty healthy adults were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. Magnetic resonance images were evaluated, and CSAs of the gluteus maximus and medius were calculated. Calculation sites were the peak CSA, lowest end of the sacroiliac joint CSA, and just above the femoral head CSA. Muscle volume and strength were measured. The correlation between muscular CSA, muscle volume, and muscular strength was verified using Pearson’s correlation coefficient (p < 0.05). One-way analysis of variance and the Tukey–Kramer test were used to verify differences in each CSA (p < 0.05). Results A significantly positive correlation was found between muscular CSA, muscle volume, and muscular strength of both muscles (p < 0.05). For the gluteus maximus, the muscular CSA calculated just above the femoral head showed a significantly larger value than that calculated at the lowest end of the sacroiliac joint (p < 0.05). For the gluteus medius, the peak CSA and muscular CSA calculated at the lowest end of the sacroiliac joint were significantly larger than that calculated just above the femoral head (p < 0.05). Conclusions The maximum CSA of the gluteus maximus was found just above the femoral head and that of the gluteus medius was near the lowest end of the sacroiliac joint; hence, CSAs should be calculated at these sites. The CSA reflected muscle volume and strength.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_6_description_5":{"attribute_name":"内容記述","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy. 2019, 41, 109–115.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_description_53":{"attribute_name":"学位記番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"新大院博(医)甲第943号","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_6_dissertation_number_52":{"attribute_name":"学位授与番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_dissertationnumber":"13101甲第4709号"}]},"item_6_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"178067","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"本間, 大介"}]}]},"item_6_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"info:doi/10.1007/s00276-018-2099-9","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_6_rights_15":{"attribute_name":"権利","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"【○!C】 Springer-Verlag France SAS, part of Springer Nature 2018"}]},"item_6_select_19":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_select_item":"ETD"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Homma, Daisuke"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"178066","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-08-31"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r1nmk943.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"850.7 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"本文","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/34034/files/r1nmk943.pdf"},"version_id":"60a3b9d3-fa27-4da0-925c-d3557d033800"},{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-08-31"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"r1nmk943_a.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"572.7 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"要旨","url":"https://niigata-u.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/34034/files/r1nmk943_a.pdf"},"version_id":"16e3b60a-6bcc-41ca-a7a4-6218a0699236"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Muscular strength","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Gluteus maximus","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Gluteus medius","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Muscle volume","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Cross-sectional area","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"thesis","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_46ec"}]},"item_title":"Investigation on the measurement sites of the cross-sectional areas of the gluteus maximus and gluteus medius","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Investigation on the measurement sites of the cross-sectional areas of the gluteus maximus and gluteus medius"}]},"item_type_id":"6","owner":"1","path":["455","562"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2020-08-31"},"publish_date":"2020-08-31","publish_status":"0","recid":"34034","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Investigation on the measurement sites of the cross-sectional areas of the gluteus maximus and gluteus medius"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":null},"updated":"2022-12-15T04:04:19.117434+00:00"}
