 note = {Objective To analyze the status of sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviours among Chinese University Students in Shandong Province, China. Methods Ananonymous, self-administered questionn aire survey was conducted in two universities among 693 students in Shandong Province, China. The age range of the subjects was 18 to 35 years old and the average age was 20.8 years old. A total of 578 valid questionnaires were collected. And university students from Shandong Province were 425 which were analyzed in this report. Results About sexual knowledge, 89.6% of the University Students understand AIDS and the route of transmission, 93.3% of the males and 88.1% of the females respectively. From a regional perspective, 89.3% of the respondents from the countryside, 89.6% of the respondents from the city, and 90.5% of the respondents from the suburbs. But the correct rate of questions about AIDS is low. About sexual behaviours, 15.4% of the university students had sexual experience, 19.7% of the males and 13.6% of the females respectively. From the regional perspective, 12.0% of the countryside, 19.3% of the city, 20.6% of the sub-urbs had sexual experience. About sexual opinions of contraception, female students have more intense consciousness than male students. Students come from the city and suburbs have a higher rate of consciousness than students from the countryside. About the implementation rate of condoms, female students (58. 8%) use condoms more than male students (47. 1%). Students that come from the countryside (56. 5%), and the suburbs (66. 7%) use condoms more than the students from the city (47. 4%). Conclusion The sexual knowledge of the University Student is unbalanced between the countryside, city, and suburbs, especially about STI. The sexual behaviours of the university student from Shandong Province is not low. And the male university students have more knowledge than femal students about STI. The sexual education should be promoted more in the countryside, and should be paid more attention to the difference between male students and female students.},
