These brachiopods indicate a late Middle Permian (Midian) in age. The Okutadami fauna, consisting of both the Boreal- and Bipolar-type genera, is the first documented Permian Boreal brachiopod fauna in Japan. The occurrence of the Boreal brachiopod fauna from the Okutadami area suggests that the fossil-bearing rocks were formed at the northern-most part of Japan in the Permian time.}, pages = {729--732}, title = {新潟ー福島県境付近の奥只見地域から産出したぺルム紀腕足類とその構造地質学的意義}, volume = {105}, year = {1999} }
