This paper deals with the selection policy of the measuring position of the temperature. One of the main heat sources is the contact zone between the groove surface of ball-screw and the rolling ball. It is experimentally examined the temperature distribution right under the groove valley and at other positions of the inner surface of hollow ball-screw. It is clarified that the temperature difference due to measuring position within lead length is less than 0.07℃ under the driving condition less than 20m/min table speed.
