The matrix doubling method is utilized to obtain the upward and downward thermal intensities inside the scattering layer. The scattering layer is assumed to be a slab imbedded with randomly-positioned thermal scattering particles, and the layer top and boｔｔom boundaries are assumed to be random rough surfaces.
