The system uses an optical data transmission technique to realize high-speed precise telemetering, which is free from noises due to a slip ring and an electric magnetic field. Moreover, it can measure the temperatures at different eight positions and the data, which are the measuring channel number and the temperature measured at the channel, are transmitted with only two pairs of infrared LED and photo-diode under arbitrary rotational spindle speed by using an asynchronous serial data transmission. An experimental system is made and several fundamental characteristics are examined. The time required for the data transmission is 48 μs a channel.
