But in the case of longer compositions they become too complicated and confusing. Besides, even those foreign students who master daily conversation, when writing a formal report form compositions, which are diffcult to understand. The aim of this study is to find out how the advisers of the foreign student consult them on the structure and composition of students thesis and other papers. Results of the study are as follows; 1. The Japanese learners use the conjunctive particle -te more frequently than native Japanese speakers. 2. As for the viewpoint of the description native Japanese speakers tend to use a fixed viewpoint of the main character. But the Japanese learners use different standpoints at the same time, which becomes confusing. 3.
