To understand this behavior, the authors administered a questionnaire to over 500 persons (keitai users) in Japan with support of a research agent (goo Research). Statistical analysis indicates that keitai users utilized "looking at keitai displays" as a nonverbal behavior referring to environmental situations. It also suggests that older persons also used keitai as nonverbal behavior like younger ones, and that females required keitai in certain situations. These results suggest that "looking at 'keitai' (mobile phone) displays" is used as nonverbal communication in public spaces.}, pages = {27--37}, title = {公共空間における非言語コミュニケーションとしての「ケータイのディスプレイを見る行為」}, volume = {4}, year = {2009} }
