I divided the subjects (the freshmen who have learned Russian for a year) into three groups. They were instructed to learn twelve Russian words (three times, three different groups) by heart. They were tested on three conditions of memorizing respectively: 1 writing the words on a piece of paper 2 using a computer software, writing the words by using a keyboard 3 using a computer software, writing the words by using a mouse. The effect was the greatest when they wrote the words on a piece of paper. But is writing on a piece of paper the best way? I think we can\u0027t say so. Computer softwares are usually more interesting than only writing words and the effect may be linked to the computer literacy of the subjects.
