In order to stimulate their sense of participation, an interactive lecture is absolutely necessary. Several factors, however, impede interactive teaching of natural science in general education course. As I have already described (Vol. 2, p.143), students are heterogenous as to their curricular background of natural science; we usually teach students both with and without learning experience of a given science subject in high school. Moreover, professors often have as many as 200 students in a class. In this article, an attempt to pursue an interactive class is described. In a nutshell, it is a kind of forced preparation in which students are required to make a report on the subject that contains important viewpoints what professors stress afterwards. Another type of class in which students' reports are used is also described, where they are divided into small groups (up to 8), discuss an assigned issue and present the obtained conclusions.}, pages = {117--121}, title = {学生の勉学意欲を維持する授業の工夫(<特集>教養教育からみた新大教育の現在・未来(第1回全学FD))}, volume = {5}, year = {2000} }
