The participants are from the Niigata University, together with the Akita, Shinshu, Hirosaki, Fukui University. The names of the classes which the participants from Niigata belong are the \"Nihonjijoo (the humanities)\" and the \"transcultural communication.\" The theme of this workshop was \"What is the cultural difference?\" under which the participants received the lecture, had discussion and got involved in the various activities including the group work, aiming to achieve the expected results. First, this paper states the background of this workshop followed by the time schedule. Then, the results of the pre/post workshop questionnaire are analyzed. Thirdly, the descriptions of the groups work session relating to the teacher\u0027s role are illustrated.
