Surveys are designed to mirror the consciousness of students who are affiliated to Faculty of Education and Human Sciences and that of professors who are charge of first year course. The followings are major findings, 1) The number of students who took the credits of natural sciences and social studies at high school is extremely low. 2) Students spend few hours for preparing and reviewing classes. The more they prepare and review classes, the higher scores they get. Students who showed their high ability on English at high school got higher scores on foreign languages courses. 3) As the measure to improve the understanding by students, both professors and students pointed out teaching method. In addition to teaching method, Professors on natural sciences agree with the introduction of remedial education, but professors on social sciences disagree with it. 4) Almost all the students agree to indicate the standard for evaluation.
