For image differencing, we used two types of values; infrared and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI). We analyzed the accuracy by comparison with the actual measurements. NDVI was found useful for the detection of the land cover change of vegetation, while the infrared image differencing was found useful for detection of other changes in land cover. It was possible to detect roughly the unchanged area as well as the land cover changes using the infrared image differencing and NDVI image differencing methods. The supervised classification done in 1984 and 2001 to determine the accuracy of the classification revealed a high classification accuracy in both years.
