On the same day, another powder snow avalanche occurred in Shimamichi-Kosen about 3.5 km distance from Maseguchi. This avalanche only caused damage to trees and four electric poles (Photo 1 to 3), but its movement happened to be recorded by chance on a vertical seismograph which was set in the Shimamichi-Kosen Inn which was only about 5m from the avalanche track (Fig. 4). On the basis of this fact, it was pointed out that the occurrence, speed and route of a powder snow avalanche could be caught by the arrangement of several seismographs.}, pages = {99--104}, title = {地震計に記録された表層雪崩}, volume = {8}, year = {1986} }
