Slope movements in summer and autumn season are caused by intensive rainfall and those in winter or early spring season are mainly caused by snow melting. There are effective detailed data on the occurrence process of slope movements caused by intensive rainfall. However, very few data are available on the occurrence process of slope movements caused by snow melting. Also in snowy areas, like Hokuriku Region in Japan, such slope movements caused by snow melting bring considerable human victims and material damages. In Alpine countries the danger degree of occurrence of slope movements caused by snow melting are apparently higher and much more damages are brought by them than those in Japan. Mitigation of such disasters is of considerable importance in Alpine countries. In this report several examples of such slope movements disasters are considered. It is to be noticed that various types and dimensions of movements such as landslides, slope failures, debris flows and so on are included in the category of slope movements caused by snow melting”. Also in case of such slope movements, snow melting plays significant role for occurrence of them. However, in some cases in parallel with snow melting intensive rainfall plays additional important role. The meteorological conditions of certain years in which many slope movements are occurred by triggering of snow melting show similar characteristics.}, pages = {41--49}, title = {アルプス諸国における融雪に起因する斜面災害 (小林俊一教授退官記念号)}, volume = {25}, year = {2003} }
