 note = {This article is a preliminary attempt for introducing the situation of Japanese language school in Singapore before the World War Two. Singapore was controlled by Japanese military authority and included the so-called Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. Japan launched the education oriented to make Japanese as the common language in then Singapore. There were Hongwanji Japanese language school and Shonan Japanese language school and both of them had many students. The Japanese education in these schools was implemented for training the persons who were suitable for Japan.},
