Singapore was controlled by Japanese military authority and included the so-called Great East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. Japan launched the education oriented to make Japanese as the common language in then Singapore. There were Hongwanji Japanese language school and Shonan Japanese language school and both of them had many students.
