The results were as follows : 1. They were classified histopathologically into 50 cases of epulis granulomatosa (57.5%), 16 cases of epulis fibrosa (18.4%), 15 cases of epulis osteoplastica (17.2%) and 6 cases of epulis hemangiomatosa (6.9%), according to Ishikawa Classification(1982). 2. Epulis was evident in the fourth and fifth decades of age and the mean age was 42.6 years. Females were affected more frequently than males by a ratio of 2.6:1. 3. Their chief complaints were tumor of the gingiva. 4. Fifty-three cases occurred in the maxilla and 34 cases in the mandible. Forty-one cases were located in the anterior segments of the jaws. 5. All cases were surgically excised. The cases accompanied with tooth extraction were 39.1%. Four cases recurred and were reoperated. 6. The pregnancy epulis was observed in 13 females. Their chief complaint was tumor of the gingival with gingival bleeding. Most of the tumors appeared by middle of pregnant period and had tendency to stop growing after delivery.
