The purpose of this tudy was to obtain an outline of patients who were enrolled to our team clinic. A total of 703 patients were examined over a period of 30 months from January 1994 to June 1996. Female patients were predominant, with a woman-to-man ratio of 3.23:1. Age range was from 9 to 82 years. The distribution of patients by age groups was 24% in 9-19 years, 33% in 20-29 years, 12% in 30-39 years and nearly 10% in 40-49, 50-59, 60-82 years. In the young population, patients under 15 years were 8.4% and 16-18 years were 11.7%. The distribution of patient's residence showed 68% of patients came from Niigata district. Patiens attended on referral to the team clinic were only 24.3%, this figure pointed out the necessity of more information to general dental practitioners and medical doctors.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"新潟大学歯学部附属病院では平成5年11月から、特殊歯科総合治療部を窓口とした顎関節症チーム診療体制が発足した｡平成6年1月から2年6カ月間に、いわゆる顎関節症の症状を訴えて来院し登録された患者の全体像を把握する目的で調査した｡登録患者数は、平成6年が278名、平成7年が272名、平成8年の半年間で153名の合計703名であった｡男女比は1:3.23と、従来の報告にある男女比の範囲内であった｡患者の年齢は9歳から82歳に分布した｡年齢別分布では、10歳代は24%、20歳代は最も多く33%であった｡30歳代は12%、40歳代以降はいずれもほぼ10%と、20歳代をピークとする1峰性の分布を示した｡この内、若年者では、15歳以下が全体の8.4%を、16歳～18歳が11.7%を占めた｡今回の特徴として、10歳代と20歳代が全患者数の57%と過半数を越え、とりわけ、女性は44%を占めた。月別患者数では、3月、4月、8月に多く、12月、
