 note = {When our facility adopted the team approach, in treating temporomandibular disorders, in November 1993, it was with a view to providing the best possible treatments. Even now, however, there is still considerable disagreement among the clinics conducting the initial examinations. In order to obtain the fundamental data that will be used in determining the best course of treatments, we conducted clinical evaluations of treatments applied to 108 of the 305 new TMD patients registered in our team, from April 1999 to March 2000. Referrals numbered 64 (59.3%) in toto, the ratio of patients referred from outside and inside our facility being 25.9% and 33.3%, respectively. Treatment was as follows; -pharmacological therapy: 56 patients (52.3%): physical therapy:b 48 patients (44.9%); splint therapy: 46 patients (43.0%); prosthetic therapy: 15 patients (13.9%). We referred 30 patients (27.8%) to other clinics for special treatment. 14 of these were referred to rehabilitation clinics, for problems involving the neck and shoulders, while 6 other patients were referred to psychiatry or dental anesthesiology for psychological problems. As for the length of the treatment-period, 74 patients (68.5%) attended our clinic five or fewer times. 29 patients (26.9%), including those receiving recalls, and those receiving treatments in other clinics, needed treatment for more than six months., 新潟大学歯学部附属病院では、平成5年11月より、顎関節症に対しチーム診療体制の取り組みを開始した｡初診時の担当科にかかわらず病態に応じた最適な治療の組み合わせを病院として系統的に実施することを目標としたが、初診査を担当している口腔外科2科、補綴科2科、特殊歯科総合治療部の中で未だ対応に差のあることが懸念される。そこで、治療体系構築のための基礎資料を得ることを目的に、平成11年度に新患登録された顎関節症患者305名のうち、特殊歯科総合治療部が診査,治療を行った108名について臨床的検討を行った｡紹介患者は64名(59.3%)で、院外から28名(25.9%)、院内から36名(33.3%)であった｡治療内容は、薬物療法が56名(52.3%)、理学療法が48名(44.9%)、スプリント療法が46名(43.0%)、補綴的治療が15名(13.9%)であった。当科より専門治療のため他科を紹介した症例は30名(27.8％)であった｡そのうち、頸･肩部の問題で理学療法科へ紹介した患者が14名(13.1%)、心身医学的問題で精神科、歯科麻酔科へ紹介した患者が6名(5.6%)であった｡治療期間は、当科での通院回数が5回以下であった患者が74名(68.5％）、リコール症例、他科での治療中症例も含めて、6ケ月以上の治療を要した患者が29名(26.9%)であった。},
