It was decided from that point, that our department would essentially function as the gateway through which the patients would access all their other options regarding dental-treatment. Following preliminary examinations, new patients were either cared for by our clinicians, or transferred to other outpatient clinics. Medical doctors have only recently begun to get a grasp of the integral relationship that exists between dental hygiene/health, and overall physical wellbeing. With this new awareness, and in view of the rather increase, not only to ensure that tests for dental focal infection are carried out prior to the conduct of organ transplants, but also, to make certain that patients in ICUs and clean rooms receive proper oral care during their stays, as this is essential to the prevention of pneumonia. We undertook this investigation to try to determine the best way to provide dental treatment for inpatients introduced to us from our affiliated medical
