Thirty-seven cases were selected out of 1,674 autopsied cases and divided into three groups according to the counts of asbestos bodies(ABs)in their lungs: group I(10 cases)had more than 101 ABs, group II had 11-100 ABs, group III had no ABs. By KOH digestion method, the author examined these cases on the number of ABs in the 13 organs including the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, spleen, pancreas, liver, heart, kidney, urinary bladder, bone marrow, thyroid gland and adrenal gland. One and more ABs were detected in 57.5%, 29.2% of extrapulmonary organs in group I, II, respectively. However, group III had no ABs. The number of ABs in the esophagus was larger than that in the other 10 organs in group I. The incidence of ABs of the esophagus in group I was higher than that in group II and III. Moreover, the higher incidence of esophaqeal carcinoma was found in the cases who had more than eleven ABs in their lungs than those less than ten ABs. So the extrapulmonary organs often exposed to asbestos and the esophagus was the most preferential site of exposure among the examined organs. Moreover, certain relationship between asbestos exposure and esophageal carcinoma was supposed.}, pages = {116--125}, title = {剖検諸臓器における石綿小体の定量的研究 : 特に基礎疾患との関係について}, volume = {101}, year = {1987} }
