 note = {114 cases of bacteremia through 1976 to 1985 at our department were studied. 128 strains were isolated from blood culture, 23 of Staphylococcus aureus, 7 of α-streptococcus, 4 of Enterococcus faecalis, 13 of Escherichia coli, 9 of Klebsiella pneumoniae, 20 of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 11 of non-fermentative gram negative rod（NFGNR）, 9 of yeast like fungi and 32 of others. Bacteremia increased in these five years, particulary caused by S.aureus, P.aeruginosa, NFGNR and yeast like fungi. These strains were frequently isolated from catheter tip. These findings suggest that insertions of catheters were cause of bacteremia increase. The prognosis of bacteremia due to P.aeruginosa was poor, and with leucopenia, the prognosis was poor, too.},
