Follow up period ranged from 2 years two months to six years four months, four years one month as average. Clinical score as to pain, ADL and ROM markably improved postoperatively. Clear zone in X-ray between the ceramic component and bone appeared about two to three months after the operation and reduced its width within six to 12 months. The designs of components, especially with embracing contact and block contact types and malaligned setting were regarded as important factors to cause loosening, probably as the result of micromovement of components.
