 note = {213 patients of essential hypertension who have been treated at Niigata University Hospital were studied. Hypercholesteremia was found in 54 patients (34.7%), hyperuricemia in 68 patients (31.9%), impaired glucose tolerance in 22 patients (10.3%). Hypercholesteremia was found in 34.2%, hyperuricemia in 31.6% in the group that were not prescribed diuretics. 41.8% of the whole patients was found neighter hypercholesteremia, hyperuricemia nor impaired glucose tolerance. It is suggested that use of diuretics should be limited in hypertensive patients in regard to complication.},
